Man Sought In ATM Robberies In San Jose
SAN JOSE (BCN) - Police are reaching out to the public to try to identify a man they suspect robbed two San Jose women on two separate occasions at the same bank ATM in August and September.
The first armed robbery occurred on Aug. 28, at about 6:40 a.m. inside a Chase Bank ATM vestibule located at 1705 E. Capitol Expressway in San Jose, police said Wednesday.
The suspect approached the 40-year-old female victim from behind as she was standing at the ATM. Armed with a knife, the man placed his arm around the victim's neck while demanding money before he robbed her and fled on foot, police said.
A second robbery at the same location occurred shortly after midnight on Sept. 2, when a man approached a 43-year-old female victim from behind, wrapped his arm around her neck, and demanded money.
The suspect knocked the woman to the ground and fled on foot before he was able to rob her.
Police said they believe the same man committed both robberies and describe the suspect as a thin black man between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall who may have a mustache and dreadlocks. He was last seen wearing a dark colored hooded jacket, black pants, and black shoes.
