Man Suspected Of Firing Gun Into Ex's Pleasanton Apartment Arrested In SF
PLEASANTON (CBS SF) -- A man suspected of firing a gun into his ex-girlfriend's apartment in Pleasanton Wednesday morning was arrested when he returned to San Francisco, Pleasanton police said.
Pleasanton police started hunting for San Francisco resident Lester Hall, 33, after he allegedly fled the shooting scene at the Park Hacienda apartment complex at 5650 Owens Drive at about 8:20 a.m. No one was injured in the shooting.
They first established a perimeter in the surrounding area, but then learned that Hall had left the area. Police alerted San Francisco police and BART police that he might be traveling across the Bay by BART.
A San Francisco police officer spotted him near the Embarcadero BART station at about 12:30 p.m. and took him into custody, according to Pleasanton police.
Hall was not armed when he was found, police said.
After the shooting, witnesses told police that Hall had gone to the apartment to confront his ex-girlfriend, who lives there with her family. During the confrontation, he allegedly fired several rounds into the apartment and then ran, according to police.
Officers made an extensive search of the complex and the area around it, assisted by officers from the BART and Livermore police departments as well as a California Highway Patrol helicopter.
But at about 10:15 a.m., police determined he was no longer in the area and lifted the shelter-in-place order, police said.
