Man Shot To Death On Berkeley Street
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - Berkeley police were investigating the shooting death of a man in South Berkeley Wednesday night.
Spokeswoman Jennifer Coats said the shooting was reported at 6:52 p.m. in the 1800 block of Derby Street between Grant Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Way.
"Several of the callers reported that there was a person down. Our officers responded to the scene and we did locate a male subject down on the sidewalk who appeared to be suffering from gunshot wounds," she said.
A Fire Department ambulance took the man to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Coats said investigators have contacted witnesses in the area, but have not yet identified any suspects.
