Man Shot To Death In Union City

UNION CITY (CBS SF) -- Police released the name of a man who was fatally shot in Union City Tuesday night and are asking for the public's help finding his killer.

Officers found a wounded Ruben Gonzalez Partida, 49, in the 600 block of Whipple Road around 10:15 p.m. after receiving a report of a shooting.

Partida, who lived in the same block, had been shot several times, according to police.

Emergency crews provided medical aid at the scene, and Partida was taken to a hospital where he died, police said.

The shooting occurred on a busy thoroughfare in the community and police said they are confident that there might have been witnesses to the shooting.

Information regarding suspect description and motive were not available as of Wednesday afternoon.
