Man Shot, Killed In Downtown San Jose
SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- A man was shot and killed in downtown San Jose Saturday afternoon in the city's 33rd homicide of the year, according to police.
Shots were fired in the area of North Third and East Julian streets just after 1 p.m. Saturday, according to Officer Albert Morales.
Responding officers located a male victim near a business in the area with at least one gunshot wound, Morales said.
The victim was taken to a hospital, but declared dead around 1:43 p.m.
The motive and circumstances of the murder remain under investigation, and it is unknown whether the shooting is gang related, Morales said. No suspects have been identified or detained.
The victim's identity is being withheld pending notification of his next of kin.
