Man Shot During San Francisco SoMa Robbery
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- A man was shot in the leg during a robbery in San Francisco's South of Market neighborhood early Sunday morning, police said Monday.
The 26-year-old victim was found around 2:05 a.m. Sunday near Bonifacio and Mabini streets, police spokesman Officer Gordon Shyy said.
A suspect approached the victim with a gun and demanded his property. After the victim handed over his cellphone and wallet, the suspect shot him twice in the leg, Shyy said.
The suspect then fled in a silver vehicle and had not been found as of Monday morning. A detailed suspect description was not immediately available, according to Shyy.
The victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for his injuries, which are not considered life-threatening, police said.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Police Department's anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or to send a tip by text message to TIP411 with "SFPD" in the message.
