Man Shot Dead Outside Antioch 7-Eleven Store
ANTIOCH (BCN) - The Antioch Police Department is investigating the murder of a 21-year-old resident outside of a convenience store in the city on Tuesday night, an Antioch police sergeant said.
Police received calls about a shooting outside of a 7-Eleven store located at 2301 Buchanan Road just before 8:50 p.m., Sgt. Steve Bias said.
Responding officers found a wounded gunshot victim in a car near the 7-Eleven, Bias said. Despite first aid provided at the scene, medical personnel pronounced the man dead several minutes later, Bias said.
Police identified the victim as 21-year-old Antioch resident Gregory Flynn Levy, Bias said. There was a second, uninjured occupant in Levy's car when police found him, Bias said.
The second occupant gave police a statement at the scene, Bias said. Police cannot release a description of the suspect at this time, except to say that he was on foot at the time of the shooting and fled on foot immediately after, Bias said.
Police are not investigating the shooting as a gang-related incident at this time, but the killing does seem to be personal, Bias said.
"There appeared to be a motive, we just haven't determined what that motive was yet," Bias said.
The Antioch police investigation into the crime is ongoing, Bias said. Anyone with information about the shooting is encouraged to call Detective Castillo at (925) 779-6933 or the Antioch police at (925) 778-2441.
