Man Shot At After Interrupting Burglary At Richmond Business
RICHMOND (CBS SF) - A Richmond business owner was shot at but uninjured after interrupting several suspects breaking into a neighboring business Friday morning, police said.
The man heard a vehicle driving slowly outside at 4:24 a.m. and when he went to investigate he found a black and silver van parked outside 617 Ohio St. and four male suspects attempting to break into the building, Lt. Shawn Pickett said.
He yelled at the suspects and startled them. Several took off running on foot, and at least one escaped in the van.
One of the running suspects turned and fired several shots back toward the business owner, but he wasn't hit by the gunfire, Pickett said.
The suspects went from South Sixth Street to Florida Avenue and escaped. No one is in custody.
Earlier this week, a fire at a warehouse on the same block of Ohio St. led to the discovery of a marijuana-growing operation.
