Man Shoots Ex-Girlfriend, Her Mother Before Shooting Self In Antioch Home

ANTIOCH (CBS/AP) -- A man apparently upset over a breakup shot and injured his ex-girlfriend and her mother at their Antioch home on Tuesday night before turning the gun on himself, a police lieutenant said Wednesday.

Jimmie Bills, 23, shot and killed himself after opening fire on his ex-girlfriend, 22, and her 46-year-old mother, police Lt. Diane Aguinaga said.

Officers were called to the home in the 2500 block of Yorkshire Drive around 10:40 p.m. They learned that Bills had kicked in the front door to get inside.

Two 8-year-old children and a 16-year-old who were at the home when the shooting happened were uninjured, Aguinaga said.

One of the victims was able to get away and call 911, police said.

Officers arrived to find Bills dead inside the residence and the two women wounded.

The women were taken to a hospital and were listed in stable condition Wednesday morning, according to police.

Aguinaga said Bills had been upset over the breakup with his ex-girlfriend and that the 22-year-old had filed a restraining order against him.

She said Bills has had additional restraining orders filed against him and has a criminal record.
