Man on Oakland Freeway May Have Been Beaten
OAKLAND, Calif. (KCBS)-- Investigators now say the man they found on an Oakland freeway offramp last night may not have been the victim of a hit-and-run. CHP Sgt. William Bradshaw says it now appears the man was severely beaten and then left on the roadway.
"The initial results indicate the body was possibly dumped there," Bradshaw said. "It does not appear he had been dropped or thrown from a vehicle as there are no road rash type lacerations to the shoulders or legs.
The victim is now in stable condition and being treated for a head injury and several broken bones at Highland Hospital in Oakland.
Bradshaw says because he is still being treated for his injuries investigators have not been able to talk with the victim or identify him.
Highland doctors expect the man will survive.
