Man Killed In Antioch Shooting

ANTIOCH (CBS SF) -- A man died after he was shot in Antioch Saturday evening, the second shooting to hit the small city this weekend, police said.

Police responded to reports that a man had been shot at 2327 Dogwood Way at 6:33 p.m. Saturday. Officers found a 24-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds there, Antioch police officials said.

The man was transported to a local hospital and later pronounced dead.

Police are seeking two suspects in connection with the shooting, who were seen fleeing the scene, police said.

One suspect is described as a black man in his early 20s with short hair. He is 6 feet tall and weighs 170 pounds, police said.

The second suspect is a black man between 18 and 22 years old, his is five feet seven inches or five feet eight inches tall, and weighs about 150 pounds, police said.

Antioch police are also investigating a Friday evening shooting of a 36-year-old man.

Around 5:55 p.m. a resident reported hearing shots fired and that people with guns were in their rear yard in the 4900 block of Parkgreen Circle.

Officers arrived at the neighborhood and found the man -- later identified as a neighbor -- suffering from two gunshot wounds. No other people were at the scene.

The man was taken to a hospital where he was listed in serious condition but is expected to survive, police said.

The motive for the shooting is unknown, according to police.
