Man Jailed In San Francisco Apartment Stabbing
SAN FRANCISCO (BCN) - One man was arrested Tuesday morning after apparently stabbing an acquaintance in the victim's apartment, a San Francisco police spokesman said.
Police were called to an apartment complex at 1030 Post St. near Larkin Street at 3:08 a.m. after the victim's brother called 911 reporting that he had awakened to find blood in the apartment, Sgt. Michael Andreychak said.
The brother and his girlfriend had immediately fled the apartment upon discovering the blood, Andreychak said. Responding officers located a 35-year-old man suffering from stab wounds to his upper body, Andrechak said.
The victim's wounds were determined to not be life-threatening and he was transported to a local hospital for treatment, Andreychak said.
Police also found the suspect, a 33-year-old man, inside the apartment, Andreychak said. The suspect was arrested and officers recovered a knife, Andreychak said.
Andreychak said the police were working at 4:15 a.m. to uncover through interviews with the witnesses - who speak only Spanish - what exactly had happened between the two men to lead to the stabbing.
The men seem to know each other and were apparently hanging out in the apartment together when something happened to lead to the stabbing, Andreychak said.
The stabbing does not appear to be gang-related or the result of a domestic violence dispute, Andreychak said.
The investigation into the stabbing was ongoing, he said.
