Man Hit, Killed By Caltrain In Tunnel Near San Francisco Station In 3rd Monday Rail Accident
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Caltrain struck and killed a man in a tunnel near the San Francisco station Monday evening in the third Bay Area rail accident of the day.
The southbound train was out of service when it struck the man in the tunnel near Mariposa Street shortly after 9 p.m.
Caltrain sent out a statement that BART would be providing mutual aid for passengers transferring in Millbrae to continue into the city.
Earlier Monday, a woman in a car on the tracks in Menlo Park was hit and killed by a Caltrain.
A Union Pacific freight train hit a car on the tracks in Morgan Hill Monday afternoon.
