Man Found Walking Along BART Tracks In San Leandro
SAN LEANDRO (CBS SF) -- A man with psychiatric problems was safely removed from walking along BART tracks between the Bay Fair and San Leandro stations Monday evening, a BART police lieutenant said.
The man walking on the tracks was reported at 5:35 p.m. after he apparently walked off the end of the Bay Fair platform, Lt. Steve Coontz said.
Trains were turned around at Bay Fair and San Leandro causing major delays in service.
Police found the man unharmed along the tracks and took him to the hospital for psychiatric evaluation, Coontz said.
Normal train service resumed Monday night with residual delays.
