Man Found Shot Dead In Hayward Industrial Area

HAYWARD (CBS SF) - A man was found fatally shot in an industrial area of Hayward on Thursday morning, police said Thursday.

Employees at a business in the 23600 block of Foley Street called police at about 8:30 a.m. Thursday to report that there was a man down in the business's parking lot, according to police.

The victim had suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene. His name was not yet being released by police or the Alameda County coroner's bureau as of this afternoon.

Police said the area where the man's body was found is mostly industrial and there are not any residences there.

The motive for the shooting isn't yet known, police said.

Police said investigators are trying to identify any witnesses who may have been in the area at the time of the homicide and locate any businesses in the surrounding area where workers might have witnessed something unusual.

Hayward police are asking anyone with information about the case to call them at (510) 293-7000.
