Man Fatally Struck By Caltrain In San Mateo
SAN MATEO (CBS SF) -- Caltrain service has been restored after a man was killed at a train station in San Mateo Friday evening, a Caltrain spokeswoman said.
Northbound train 287 struck and killed a man on the tracks at the Hayward Park Caltrain station at 7:15 p.m., Caltrain spokeswoman Christine Dunn said.
That train stopped about a half-mile from the station until it moved to the San Mateo station where passengers could board a different train. No passengers were injured.
Train service was severely disrupted as trains first could not move past San Mateo, and would turn around before arriving at the Hayward Park station.
Shortly before 10 p.m. normal train service was restored.
