Man Fatally Stabbed During Party At San Jose Insurance Office
SAN JOSE (KCBS) — An overnight graduation party at an insurance office turned violent in North San Jose on Thursday, according to a relative of the victim who was fatally stabbed.
According to police, the stabbing was reported shortly before 3 a.m. on the 1600 block of Oakland Road. The victim, whose name was not immediately being released, was pronounced dead at 3:38 a.m. after being taken to the hospital for treatment to his injuries.
Orange crime-scene tape blocked off the parking lot of an insurance company called The Agency. Michael Tran, the owner of the business, said the victim was his cousin. The incident marked what police listed as the 45th homicide in San Jose this year.

An employee of a neighboring business named Donna, who did not want to give her last name, told KCBS this sort of violence is completely out of the ordinary at the business complex.
"We were near the unit a couple of years ago where it seems like the murder occurred and we've never had any problems. No break-ins that I know of, no break-ins to cars, no wild parties. This is very unusual," she said.
Police had not yet made any arrests, but are continuing to investigate the murder according to San Jose Police Department spokesperson Albert Morales.
"Right now they are talking to witnesses and they are conducting investigation into motive and who the suspect might be," Morales said.
The last time the murder rate was this high in San Jose was in 1991, when there were 53 homicides.
