Man Fatally Shot In San Francisco's Mission District

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Police are investigating a fatal shooting in San Francisco's Mission District on Friday Night.

Officers responded to reports of shots fired near 23rd and Shotwell streets around 7:20 p.m. and found a man suffering from gunshot wounds inside a vehicle.

The victim, a 39-year-old man, was taken to San Francisco General Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The victim's vehicle had collided with another unoccupied vehicle, police said.

Police said the shooting is under investigation and no suspect information was immediately available.
