Man Charged In Fremont Teen Girl Kidnapping Claims He Was In Her Car Accidentally
FREMONT (CBS/AP) -- A man charged with kidnapping and intending to rape a 16-year-old girl at knifepoint said he accidentally climbed into her car and only wanted to get out.
23-year-old Aron Roy was arraigned Wednesday on charges of felony kidnapping with intent to commit rape, second-degree robbery and cocaine possession.
Fremont police say Roy climbed into the back of the girl's car at a supermarket and ordered her at knifepoint to drive to a remote area, where she managed to escape. He was later arrested at a Best Buy in Dublin where he worked.
According to court documents, Roy said he accidentally entered the wrong car and laid down. He allegedly told investigators when he rose, he "freaked out" after the girl screamed and tried to direct her to where he could get out.
