Man Arrested In Pittsburg Carjacking, Police Chase
PITTSBURG (AP) -- A 33-year-old man was arrested after leading Pittsburg police on a chase during which he allegedly tried to carjack three vehicles, according to authorities.
Lloyd Harris of Antioch was taken into custody on Wednesday on suspicion of carjacking, attempted carjacking and evading police. Pittsburg police Lt. Brian Addington says Harris was wanted on two outstanding warrants, one for a federal probation violation.
The chase began around 6:15 p.m. when officers spotted Harris riding in the back of an SUV in Pittsburg.
Addington says Harris pushed the driver and another passenger out and sped off.
After a brief chase, he allegedly crashed and ran onto Highway 4, where police say he tried to carjack two vehicles.
Addington told the Contra Costa Times Harris was tackled by officers while pulling a third driver from her car.
