Man Arrested For Stabbing Wife In Martinez Walmart Parking Lot
MARTINEZ (BCN) - A Lake County man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after stabbing his wife in a Martinez Walmart parking lot late Monday night, police said.
Officers responded to reports of a fight between a man and a woman in the parking lot of the store located at 1021 Arnold Drive at about 11:50 p.m., when the store had already closed.
According to police, officers witnessed the man assaulting the woman. The man, 41-year-old Robert King Jr., allegedly resisted officers and had to be restrained.
Meanwhile, the woman, King's 31-year-old wife, who sustained at least 10 stabbing wounds, was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The woman's injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
King was on parole for domestic violence and will be booked at Contra Costa County Jail on suspicion of attempted murder, spousal battery, and parole violation. Police said they also suspect that King was under the influence of methamphetamine at the time of the attack.
