Man Arrested For Allegedly Pushing Wife Out Of Moving Car, Kidnapping Her Son
UNION CITY (CBS Sf) -- An Oakland man was arrested Friday on suspicion of four offenses including trying to run over his wife with a car, pushing her out of a moving car, kidnapping her child and endangering the child, police said.
Lawrence Pollard, 31, allegedly tried to run over his wife with a car at 8:01 a.m. in the parking lot of 1601 Decoto Road. As officers were checking the area they received another report that a man was trying to push a woman out of a moving car on Mission Boulevard near Tamarack Drive, police said.
Officers responded and found a woman who alleged she was the victim and it was her husband who pushed out of the car and fled with her 4-year-old son who is not his biological son, police said.
Union City officers got help from Oakland police who found the car in the 9400 block of E Street. Police also found Pollard but did not find the boy.
Police said Pollard allegedly told different stories about where he left the boy but eventually Pollard said he was with a relative. Union City police found the child safe with a relative.
Officers took Pollard to the county jail. His wife was taken to a hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
The child was given over to child safety services.
