Man Arrested After Shooting Near Vallejo Elementary School
VALLEJO (CBS SF) -- A 25-year-old man was arrested after a shooting near Beverly Hills Elementary School in Vallejo Wednesday morning, police said.
The shooting was reported in the first block of Hollywood Avenue around 6:20 a.m., police said.
Arriving officers found a 26-year-old man down in a front yard on the east side of the street suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg, police said.
The victim told police that the shooter had fled south on Hollywood Avenue.
A custodian at the school, located nearby at 1450 Coronel Ave., told police that two people possibly connected to the shooting had gone onto the campus.
Officers found the pair on Cabrillo Avenue, east of the school, and determined that they had only witnessed the crime, police said.
Meanwhile, another officer found the suspect, identified as Vallejo resident Justin Rahn, near Magazine Street and Fulton Avenue, police said.
He was booked into Solano County Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
