Magnitude 7.9 Earthquake Reported In Nepal
(CBS SF) -- [UPDATE: Hundreds Die In Powerful Nepal Quake]
An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.9 have struck the South Asian country of Nepal Saturday morning, leading to collapsed buildings and major damage.
According to the United States Geological Survey, the earthquake struck shortly before noon Nepal Standard Time. The epicenter is about 50 miles northwest of the capital Kathmandu.
