Magnitude 6.3 Earthquake Hits Solomon Islands East Of Australia
SOLOMON ISLANDS (CBS SF ) — The U.S. Geological Survey says a magnitude 6.3 earthquake has struck the Solomon Islands east of Australia Wednesday afternoon.
The USGS says the quake's epicenter was located 98 miles south southeast of Lata, Solomon Islands. The quake struck around 4 p.m. Pacific Wednesday evening.
No tsunami warning was issued.
