Magnitude 6.3 Earthquake Hits Alaska
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (CBS SF) — A magnitude 6.3 earthquake struck in Alaska Tuesday evening, but there was no immediate tsunami threat.
The USGS reported the 6.3 magnitude earthquake that struck about 141 miles southwest of Anchorage around 7:35 p.m. pacific time Tuesday afternoon.
The quake struck at a depth of 73 miles.
No damage or injuries were immediately reported.
A magnitude 5.4 earthquake struck the Aleutian Islands earlier Tuesday.
