Magnitude 2.9 Quake Strikes East Of Livermore
LIVERMORE (CBS SF) -- An earthquake registering a preliminary magnitude of 2.9 struck near Livermore on Friday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey's automated seismograph alert network.
The earthquake struck around 5:14 p.m., about two miles east of Livermore, at a depth of two miles.
Some visitors to the CBS San Francisco Facebook page near the epicenter reported a quick jolt.
