Winning Ticket To $225 Million Powerball Jackpot Bought At San Mateo Store
SAN MATEO (CBS SF) -- A lucky ticket holder in San Mateo matched all six numbers to win a $225 million Powerball jackpot that was drawn Wednesday night.
The California Lottery tweeted Wednesday night that someone in San Mateo matched all six numbers.
According to lottery officials, the ticket was bought at the Key Market on South Norfolk Street, owned by Jack and Nancy Dehoff. The owners will receive $1 million for selling the winning ticket.
"Just excitement, really, kind of shocking," Jack Dehoff said in front of the store Wednesday night.
When asked if they could use the $1 million, Jack said, "Very, very easily."
"We're happy and excited for them, whoever they are," Nancy Dehoff said.
The winning numbers for Wednesday's drawing are: 7, 14, 21, 24, 41, and the Powerball is 26.
Also on Wednesday, the lottery announced that someone won an $11 million Super Lotto jackpot at a store in Stockton.
The identities of Wednesday's winners were not immediately known.
Wednesday night's Powerball winner joins two other Bay Area residents who have won massive jackpots in the past year. In February, a $425 million Powerball jackpot was won by a man who bought a ticket at a convenience store in Milpitas. Last December, a San Jose man won half of a Mega Millions jackpot worth $636 million.
