Los Gatos Man Killed In San Jose Intersection
SAN JOSE (BCN) -- A 70-year-old man killed in a collision at a San Jose intersection Sunday evening has been identified by the Santa Clara County medical examiner's office as Los Gatos resident Robert Freeman.
Freeman was turning left from McAbee Road onto north Almaden Expressway around 5:15 p.m. when a GMC Sierra pickup drove into the intersection and struck him on the driver's side, San Jose police spokesman Jose Garcia said.
Freeman was pronounced dead at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center.
A 67-year-old woman who was sitting in the front passenger seat of Freeman's BMW was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital. Her injuries were not expected to be life threatening, Garcia said.
A 10-year-old girl riding in the back seat suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
The driver of the pickup truck, a 43-year-old San Jose man, was not injured.
Investigators do not believe drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision. The cause remains under investigation.
