Local Rapper Among 2 Dead In Oakland Shootings
OAKLAND (KCBS/BCN)—Police are investigating the separate shooting deaths of two people on Tuesday in Oakland, including a local Bay Area rapper.
Keith Head, a 22-year-old San Francisco rapper known as K.O. Da Bandit, was shot and killed near 13th Street and Broadway at about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday night.
The 12th Street BART station was evacuated and shut down for an hour while police swept the station looking for evidence. Police investigators have not released more information on incident.
Earlier at about 3 p.m., a 21-year-old woman driving her car in East Oakland was shot and killed during an attempted robbery.
Police said the woman was confronted by two men, one who had a gun, near Foothill Boulevard and 24th Avenue. The robbers shot at the victim as she attempted to drive away. While she was able to drive a few blocks away, where help was summoned, she died later at Highland Hospital
Tuesday's two shooting deaths mark that city's 29th and 30th homicides of the year and the third this week. On Monday, a 23-year-old Stockton man was found shot to death on 90th Avenue.
