Livermore Grandmother, Grandson Deaths Still A Mystery
LIVERMORE (BCN) - Investigators are still trying to determine what led to a possible murder-suicide involving an elderly woman and her grandson in Livermore last week, a police detective said Wednesday.
Frances Roberson, 96, and her grandson David Roberson, 51, were found dead Thursday evening at a home in the 600 block of Canterbury Avenue, Livermore police Detective Tony Esquivel said.
Police responded at about 7:25 p.m. Thursday to a report that two people had been found dead in the home by friends of the family who had gone to visit and check on them.
Frances and David were both found with apparent gunshot wounds to the head, police said.
The case is being investigated as a possible murder-suicide, but that has not been officially determined as of today, Esquivel said.
"It's still an ongoing investigation," he said.
Family friends told police that David Roberson suffered from mental illness and had a history of illegal drug use, but Esquivel declined to go into further detail Wednesday on whether that information is relevant to the case.
