Lightning Strikes Transformer In San Francisco, Causes Power Outage
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- A lightning strike in San Francisco early Friday morning left about 200 PG&E customers without power in the city's Noe Valley neighborhood, a utility spokesman said.
The lightning damaged five transformers along the western portion of the 24th Street corridor, knocking out power at 1:12 a.m., PG&E spokesman Joe Molica said.
KCBS' Holly Quan Reports:
Thirty-four customers were still affected by the outage at 9:15 a.m.
One transformer was still under repair and crews expected it to be back in order by noon, Molica said.
