Liam Mayclem "Pride" Interview, On Unlikely Alliance Of Gays, Miners
(CBS SF) -- "PRIDE" - a British film is being lauded by critics and winning over audiences as it opens across America and is now playing in the Bay Area.
PRIDE (CBS Films) directed by Matthew Warchus tells the story of two unlikely groups coming together, GAY and MINERS. They unite as they face hardship under Margaret Thatcher's (1984) Britain.
The movie was written by Stephen Beresford. The story was inspired by real life character Jonathan Blake who was part of "GLSM" - Gay and Lesbians who Support Miners.
CBS's Liam Mayclem spoke to writer Beresford and Blake recently as they presented the film to an audience at the Century 9 Theatre in San Francisco.
