Lena Dunham Doesn't Like Kanye's 'Famous' Video

By Hayden Wright

(RADIO.COM) – Kanye West's video for "Famous" was destined for controversy, largely due to his decision to feature waxen figures of celebrities like Anna Wintour, Amber Rose, Bill Cosby, Rihanna, and, yes, Taylor Swift in bed with him. Swift's friend Lena Dunham is none-too-pleased with Kanye's latest artistic statement, and has expressed her outrage over the video.

"I can't watch it … if it feels informed and inspired by the aspects of our culture that make women feel unsafe even in their own beds, in their own bodies," wrote the Girls creator on Facebook. Dunham admitted that her pearl-clutching reaction might not be the trendiest hot take, but it's sincere.

"I know that there's a hipper or cooler reaction to have than the one I'm currently having," she continued. "But guess what? I don't have a hip cool reaction, because seeing a woman I love like Taylor Swift (f—, that one hurt to look at. I couldn't look), a woman I admire like Rihanna or Anna, reduced to a pair of waxy breasts made by some special effects guy in the Valley, it makes me feel sad and unsafe and worried for the teenage girls who watch this and may not understand that grainy roving camera as the stuff of snuff films."

Dunham's ideas also rove around the Kardashians, feminism, Bill Cosby, the Illuminati and more. Read the writer and actress' full statement here:
