Kidnapped Central Valley Baby, Father Found
WASCO, Fresno County (AP) -- A 9-month-old boy who triggered a statewide Amber Alert after he was taken from his home over the weekend has been found safe, according to Fresno County authorities.
Sheriff's officials said early Monday that the baby, Elijah Rivas, is in good condition. The child with his father, 19-year-old Edgar Ramos in Wasco, the town where the man lives. It's located about 65 miles south of Elijah's home in Riverdale, where the alleged kidnapping took place.
Officials have not released any details about how the two were located.
Authorities said Ramos was visiting his son in front of the child's mother's home on Saturday night and took the child when the mother briefly went inside the house. The former couple had been fighting over child custody.
No word yet if Ramos will be facing any charges.
