Keri Russell Ventures To 'Austenland' In New Trailer
(CBS NEWS) - Keri Russell is taking an obsession with Jane Austen to the next level in the new trailer for "Austenland."
The "Felicity" star plays Jane, a contemporary New Yorker who has practically devoted her life to the works of Austen, the 19th century British novelist known for novels like "Pride and Prejudice," "Sense and Sensibility" and "Emma." The modern-day Jane even keeps a life-sized cardboard cut-out of Colin Firth as the classic Austen character Mr. Darcy in her bedroom.
Naturally, Jane sets off to Austenland, a British historical resort based off of the classic author's writings, where she makes new friends played by Jane Seymour and Jennifer Coolidge while finding time for a little romance along the way.
"Austenland" is based off of the 2007 best-selling novel of the same name by Shannon Hale. It was helmed by first-time director Jerusha Hess (best known for writing the screenplay to "Napoleon Dynamite") and produced by "Twilight" author Stephenie Meyer.
