KCBS In Depth: Sexually Exploited Children

(KCBS) -- MISSSEY, which stands for Motivating, Inspiring, Supporting and Serving Sexually Exploited Youth, is a community-based organization in Alameda County that was founded in 2007 to respond to the epidemic of sexual exploitation.

The organization provides comprehensive services in a safe environment to support and serve sexually exploited youth.

KCBS In Depth: MISSSEY Executive Director Nola Brantley:

MISSSEY Executive Director Nola Brantley said the problem is increasing and children are being exploited at a younger age.

In Alameda County, the organization saw 100 children in the past year.

She said in many cases, the children are neglected or sexually and physically abused before being exploited.
