Jury Finds Man Guilty In Drug-Induced Stabbing Death Of Woman In Santa Rosa
SANTA ROSA (CBS SF) -- A Sonoma County Superior Court jury Thursday found a 23-year-old man guilty of first-degree murder for the drug-induced stabbing death of a woman after a Halloween party in Santa Rosa in 2012.
The jury found Jessy Zetino guilty of murder and personal use of a knife for the killing of Michela Wooldridge, whose body was found outside a business on Fourth Street in east Santa Rosa on Nov. 1, 2012.
Zetino's girlfriend had testified during the trial that Zetino had taken LSD. His defense attorney told the jury that he was incapable of premeditated murder in his drug-induced mental state.
Prosecutors said Zetino's DNA evidence was found at the crime scene. Wooldridge, who had recently moved to the Santa Rosa area from Humboldt County, was found outside the Lamp and Shade Shop at 1200 Fourth St.
A date to schedule Zetino's sentencing has been set for next Wednesday.
