Jump On Tomorrow: A's San Jose Lawsuit, Westboro Church Protests Tech
(KPIX / KBCW NIGHTBEAT) -- On Tuesday, lawyers representing the City of San Jose will take their antitrust case against Major League Baseball to a federal appeals court.
The city is trying to force the league to allow the Oakland A's to move to the South Bay. While the A's signed a 10-year-lease to play at O.Co Coliseum, there is a clause to opt-out. The San Francisco Giants have argued that they have territorial rights to San Jose.
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi is stopping through San Francisco on Tuesday. The focus: How to jumpstart the middle class. Pelosi and other city leaders will talk about creating jobs, ensuring fair wages, and investing in transportation and infrastructure.
In Silicon Valley, the Westboro Baptist Church is picketing tech companies like Google and Facebook as part of its "God Hates the Media Tour." The group, known for holding hate-filled anti-LGBT protests, will start in Menlo Park around noon Tuesday.

Tuesday is also World Elephant Day. The Oakland Zoo is going to deliver elephant drawings from Bay Area kids to Gov. Jerry Brown's office. They hope to better protect elephants and ban the sale of ivory.
