John Madden's Take On This Weekend's Matchups
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - John Madden offered his take on this weekend's NFC and AFC playoff games in his daily discussion with the KCBS morning crew.
New Orleans at San Francisco: "The 49ers...that's an amazing story. No one thought that this was going to happen and then it did. The job that they've all done is just amazing to get to this point," said Madden. "It's the 49ers defense against the Saints offense... It's going to be a real challenge for the 49ers, but you always have to go for the locals."
Denver at New England: "The Tebow thing, that's real," said the former coach, referring to the run of success by Denver's young quarterback. "But (the Broncos) have to hang in there. (Patriots QB) Tom Brady can hang five touchdowns on you quickly... (The Broncos) have to make some plays on special teams, their defense has to play outstanding, they have to get turnovers. They have to get to the fourth quarter where the score is close... I think it's going to be New England."
Houston at Baltimore: "(The Houston) defense and their running game is good enough to get them to this position, but I don't think they get past Baltimore."
New York at Green Bay: "I'm impressed with the way the Giants came on at the end and how well they're playing. Their big thing is pass rush, and if they get a pass rush on (Packers QB) Aaron Rodgers, I think that he can still beat it." (7:40)
