Jogger Stabbed By Teenage Attacker At Oakley Park
OAKLEY (CBS SF) - A man was stabbed during a robbery after taking a run in an Oakley park on Tuesday evening, East Bay Regional Park District police said.
The victim, a 58-year-old Pinole man, was accosted in the parking lot of the Big Break Regional Shoreline at about 6:45 p.m. just after finishing his run, police said.
The attacker, described as a boy between 14 and 16 years old who was wearing a white mask, demanded money and stabbed the victim in the arm, according to police.
The suspect then fled and the victim chased him for a short distance before losing sight of him the darkness and fog, according to police.
A friend drove the victim to Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Antioch, where he was treated for a stab wound and blood loss. He was released later that evening, police said.
The suspect is described as about 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, dark jeans, sneakers and a white mask.
He was last seen running west toward Big Break Road, police said.
