Job Seekers Hopeful In South San Francisco
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) -- Several hundred peninsula job seekers, many of them out of work for more than a year, descended on South San Francisco Monday for a workshop on how to find another job.
The Job Hunters Boot Camp was held at the South San Francisco Conference Center on Monday. At the workshop, job seekers got advice on resume writing, interviewing and networking.
KCBS' Bob Melrose Reports:
Congresswoman Jackie Speier, who sponsored the workshop, said only five percent of applicants are hired just using the Internet.
"You talk to people that are in a position to help you," she said.
Speier has held two other similar job fairs.
