Jim Harbaugh Meets Judge Judy, Appears On Her TV Show
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Months after San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh cited television's Judge Judy as his role model for truth-telling, he finally got the opportunity to meet her in person.
Harbaugh, accompanied by his father, recently attended a taping of the Judge Judy show at Judy's invitation. The episode airs Monday evening (tonight) at 7:30 p.m. on KPIX 5.
Besides being prominently featured on camera in cutaway reaction shots starting with the show's second segment, the two Harbaughs spent some quality time in between cases playing cards with Judge Judy backstage in her office (see photo on right). Judy, who is an avid gin player, apparently won the card game - but Jim Harbaugh took the loss in stride.
Back during the NFL scouting combine in February, Harbaugh was asked about the interview process for potential draftees. He compared it to appearing before Judge Judy, telling reporters at the time: "I'm a big fan of the 'Judge Judy' show. And when you lie in Judge Judy's courtroom, it's over, your credibility is completely lost, you stand no chance of winning that case. So, I learned that from her. It's very powerful."
The two videos below offer glimpses into some of the Jim Harbaugh-Judge Judy moments. The first video is the show trailer being used to promote the broadcast on KPIX 5 Monday at 7:30 p.m. The second video (silent) is some behind the scenes footage obtained exclusively by KPIX 5 and the 49ers.
