Jewelry Stolen In Concord Macy's Smash-And-Grab Robbery

CONCORD (CBS SF) -- Robbers smashed display cases and stole jewelry from the Macy's store at Concord's Sunvalley Mall on Wednesday night, police said.

Officers responded to a report of a robbery in progress at the store around 8:45 p.m., police Lt. Dave Hughes said.

Hughes said three male suspects—one armed with a gun—entered the store, jumped a jewelry counter and started smashing display cases.

No shots were fired, and no one was hurt, the lieutenant said.

The suspects grabbed jewelry, then left the store, got into a car and drove off. The vehicle was later found unoccupied a few blocks from the mall in Pleasant Hill, police said.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Concord police at (925) 671-3030 or the police department's anonymous tip line at (925) 603-5836.
