Jerry Rice In the Hall of Fame

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS)_ Legendary San Francisco 49er Jerry Rice was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame Saturday.

Jerry Rice rates so high in Mike Singletary's estimation that the 49ers coach says he even considered putting some of his current players on a flight to Canton, Ohio so they could be at the Hall of Fame ceremony.

Singletary says Rice's work ethic was unsurpassed, and that he's a class act.

"A lot of receivers talk about Jerry Rice and how they'd like to be like him, but until they can even come close to the work ethic that he has, they may as well talk about someone else," Singletary said.

Team president Jed York was in attendance for Rice's induction.

"There are so many great 49ers. He's obviously the greatest receiver that's ever played the game. I think Jerry's right up there at the top with Joe and Ronnie and some of the all-time greats," stated York.

Rice established a record 274 consecutive games with a catch and 11 straight 1,000-yard receiving seasons.
