Jaycee Dugard Memoir To Be Published In July

(CBS SF) - A memoir by kidnap survivor Jaycee Dugard about her abduction and subsequent 18 years of captivity will be published in July, her publisher announced Monday.

Dugard was 11 years old when she was kidnapped by Phillip and Nancy Garrido from a school bus stop in front of herSouth Lake Tahoe home in 1991.

The couple held her captive for 18 years in the backyard of their home just outside of Antioch.

During that time, the couple repeatedly raped and sexually abused Dugard and she bore two daughters fathered by Phillip Garrido.

According to her publisher, Simon and Schuster, Dugard, now 31, has written about her experiences from the time of her abduction to the present, including how she feels now since she has been rescued.

The memoir, titled "A Stolen Life," will be on bookshelves July 12 in hardcover. An eBook and audio book read by Dugard will also be released July 12.

Simon and Schuster is a division of CBS Corporation.

Phillip and Nancy Garrido pleaded guilty on April 18 to charges of kidnapping and sexual assault.

They were scheduled to be sentenced June 2 in El Dorado County Superior Court in Placerville.

Phillip Garrido faces a maximum sentence of 431 years to life in prison, and his wife faces 36 years to life in prison, according to the El Dorado County District Attorney's Office.
