January Ends With Record-Setting Temperatures Across The Bay Area
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Those balmy temperatures people were enjoying on the last day of January in cities around the Bay Area, broke quite a few records.
Kentfield in Central Marin warmed up to 75 degrees, beating the 1995 record of 71 degrees. Ditto for Oakland. Temperatures in Santa Rosa rose to 79 degrees, beating the 1953 record of 73 degrees. San Francisco and San Rafael also broke previous records.
Saturday's unseasonably warm weather caps off what scientists say may be the driest January ever recorded in California. The National Weather Service is forecasting rain by mid-week.
