Alleged Victim Takes Stand In De Anza Gang Rape Trial
SAN JOSE (KCBS) - The woman who claims she was gang raped at a party by a group of De Anza College baseball players in 2007 took the stand for the second day in San Jose civil court on Tuesday.
During cross examination, the defense raised questions about the credibility of the plaintiff, known only in the courtroom as Jane Doe.

Initially, she told investigators that she did not bring alcohol to the party on the evening of March 3, 2007. But she now admits that she did, saying she lied about it because she was 17 at the time and didn't want to get into trouble.
Jeff Nevin, the head lawyer for one of the former De Anza baseball players, said the plaintiff's selective memory is a key part of their case.
"The veracity of the plaintiff is in question and the jury has only heard one side, the side given by her attorneys," said Nevin. "We have our own side to present."
The defendants claim that Jane Doe was a willing participant in the group sex. San Jose Legal Analyst Steven Clark said the defense will have to be very cautious in how they question the witness.
"They don't want the jurors to get angry because they appear to be overreaching or bullying the victim in this case," said Clark.
Jane Doe is suing for millions in damages. Six defendants have already been dropped from the civil suit.
