Jan Wahl Movie Review: 'The Big Wedding'

(KCBS) – KCBS Entertainment Editor Jan Wahl reviews "The Big Wedding", which she says is a romantic comedy with an impressive cast of stars but a dearth of intelligence.

KCBS Entertainment Reporter Jan Wahl:

KCBS Movie Review: 'The Big Wedding'

THE BIG WEDDING (R)

Robert De Niro, Susan Sarandon, Diane Keaton, Robin Williams, smart actors, all Oscar winners. Katherine Heigl, Topher Grace, big stars, big money behind this romantic comedy. You also see lush and exciting sets, because these are very wealthy people who are all getting together to decide that they are going to act like they're together in order for a family wedding to come off.

The Big Wedding (2013) - Official Trailer #1 by Lionsgate Movies on YouTube

This movie is stupid on every level. Nothing feels real. All these good actors are completely wasted. If they would have had one less actor and maybe one additional screenplay person, it could have helped. It's too bad, such a waste.

Williams is a priest, DeNiro is a bohemian artist, this could have been good, but it's clichéd & impossible. It feels as if the movie thinks the audience is stupid. So wait until DVD and prove them wrong.

Don't invite yourself…Wait for the Blu-Ray/DVD...
