(KCBS) - KCBS Entertainment Editor Jan Wahl reviews the latest Woody Allen movie starring Owen Wilson and Rachel McAdams.

MIDNIGHT IN PARIS (PG-13)

It's been a long time since I truly loved a Woody Allen movie. The last time was 1999's Sweet and Lowdown..Now comes a film to remind us of the genius behind Annie Hall, Manhattan, Hannah and her Sisters, Crimes and Misdemeanors. Midnight in Paris is the most fun when it is a surprise...try not to read too much about the details of this magical story that asks a profound question. Owen Wilson plays a lost Hollywood screenwriter, looking for meaning in Paris on a trip with his spoiled fiancee, played by Rachel McAdams. Suddenly our hero finds a better way to live, with a cast of characters including some of my favorites: Cole Porter, Salvador Dali, Picasso, Hemingway, F.Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald..and Gertrude Stein (follow this movie up with a visit to MOMA and The Contemporary Jewish Museum for great exhibits on Stein.) Stunning Marion Cotillard adds to the smart wit. Tired of nauseating teen boy bromedies, dumb girl fantasies or superhero sequels..this is the antidote to it all..Four hats. and hats off to Woody Allen for coming back to us with something unique and refreshing!
